No photos, sorry kevineats always does great pics of the food. I'm a huge fan of Rick Bayless. I've been fortunate enough to eat at Xoco and now Red O. You can see the menu online.
Food: Overall Good. Chips from the apps could have been cooked to order. I would fore go desserts and instead order the Goat Cheese Tamales and Plantain Sopes.
Highlights: Halibut Ceviche, Duck Taquitos, Goat Cheese Tamales, Plantain Sopes, Pork Belly Sopes
Drinks: The signature drinks could use some work. They took the tamarind drink off the menu which I was looking forward to. Highlight: Market Margarita but it's more of an Aqua Fresca than a Margarita.
Atmosphere: Think Island Resort. The decor was a blend of Bali and Baja. Music wasn't too loud and it wasn't hard to hold a conversation..
Service: Not bad.
Overall: I thought it was nice and worth trying. It was a little expensive for what you get.
What I didn't like: Keep in mind that it's a new hot restaurant so these gripes are a 'wish list'. Not designed for larger parties, they wouldn't adjust dishes to server 6 when most things were designed for 4. Corkage was expensive and only allowed to open 2 bottles regardless of how many are at a table.
Return: I won't be heading back immediately for dinner, but I could see myself going to check out the bar and grab a few snacks before an Improv show.
